The Princess Dream

This Cinderella, who is she, who dances cross my screen

Belle, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, a few of what I’ve seen

How do they do it, these Barbie Clones, what magic do they possess

They fully plant who they are to all who wear a dress

For when I stop and move my gaze from screen to tender face

I see the fascination that’s caught the female race

Is this good, is this right, to put such strength in seeds

That grow so fast and grow so thick might choke more righteous deeds?

Must God compete with Disney lore that never mentions Him

Are we thinking more of Him than that of “Brothers Grim”

Do we build inside each girl a warped destructive lie

That strikes the core of self respect, that suicide they try?

Few will reach the model looks, impossible for most

For God looks upon the heart, not looks, lest man should boast

Tis Satan’s surest tool to grab, enslave with fashion

And mocks the sweetness found in each girl’s “natural” attraction

Instead of inner strength, intelligence, and strong variety

We have a bunch of Barbie clones and Princess “wannabees”

So, to the wise and those not lost in advertising’s snare

I declare in soberness, a revelation rare

Don’t waste your time becoming someone other than yourself

You are a daughter of your God, heir to ALL his wealth

God is the King of Kings, you know, a being so fantastic

You are his, a Princess true, not one made out of plastic

He will show you things not seen on Hollywood’s bright screens

Give him the time you give to dolls and know what all this means:

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor. 2:9
